Some components are not available to provide playback of this presentation on your system. An attempt was made to access a file that cannot currently be decoded by RealPlayer. RealPlayer G2, 7, and 8 can natively decode RealAudio and RealVideo files. Other media types such as .wav, .au, .mov, .mid, and .mpg (MPEG 1) can also be decoded if the appropriate plug-ins and codecs(compression/decompression systems) are installed.
There are two main causes for RealPlayer's inability to decode an accepted media format.
You are attempting to use an expired beta version of RealPlayer or RealPlayer Plus. RealNetworks sets an expiration date in all beta versions to remind users that the next version of the product is available for download. By updating to the next version, users receive software that has been improved in both features and stability.
If you are receiving this message for any clip you try to play, please visit the RealPlayer download page and download the latest version of RealPlayer. After you install the latest version of RealPlayer, try accessing the content again.
Your copy of RealPlayer does not have the necessary plug-in, or the required codecs are not present. To see which RealPlayer plug-ins are installed:
RealPlayer G2:
Start RealPlayer. Click the Options menu and choose Preferences. Click the Upgrade tab. Check the RealPlayer components list to determine which file types have installed plug-ins. RealPlayer 7 & 8:
Start RealPlayer. Click the View menu and choose Preferences. Click the Upgrade tab. Click the Settings button in the RealPlayer Plug-ins section to determine which file types have installed plug-ins. Even if the correct plug-in for the media type is installed, you will not be able to play files of that media type if the corresponding codecs are not also installed. To install the codecs for the media type, you will need to download and install a media player that was originally designed to play the media type.
The following is a list of media players, their native playback media type, and where they can be downloaded.
Quicktime Player
Plays compressed and uncompressed Quicktime v1, v2, and v3 files. (.mov) Visit the Apple site to download the QuickTime Player.
Windows Media Player
Natively plays basic audio (.au), .mid, and .wav. In some cases, installation of the Windows Media Player will take over playback of media types without notification. Visit the Microsoft site to download the Windows Media Player.
WinAmp
Plays MP2, MP3, MOD, CD, .wav and other formats. Visit the Winamp site to download the Winamp Player.
Vivo Player
Plays Vivo (.viv) files. Visit the Vivo site to download the Vivo Power Player.
Crescendo
Plays Midi (.mid) files natively. Visit the Live Update site to download the Crescendo Player.
